About SMR

SMR is a technical and scientific software development and engineering computer simulations company.

Founded in 1980, SMR provides research and development software tools in the field of numerical simulation to cutting edge industrial customers and research institutions and it turns exploratory software developments into robust commercial tools, which then are exploitable in industrial production environments.

SMR develops and maintains the B2000++ finite element analysis environment, the MemCom data manager, the FSI/FSCON fluid-structure analysis coupling system, and the baspl++ visualisation tool.

SMR has a customer basis in the European aeronautical research environment, which make use of B2000++ and MemCom, both as a research tool for testing specific algorithms and methods and for production runs. The extensible concept of B2000++ together with optional access to the source code make it a competitive niche product in a market dominated by a few big simulation packages. MemCom is highly appreciated for multi-disciplinary problem solving environments, fluid-structure coupling problems being one of the example applications.
