SMR is offering engineering services in computational mechanics, discrete and continuous simulation, knowledge-based simulation, and software development.
Computational mechanics allows for the design and optimization of structures without actually manufacturing them, thus reducing development time and costs. SMR's know-how in computational mechanics is based on long experience with the B2000++ finite element simulation environment as well as with other modelling systems. B2000++ is SMR's in-house analysis tool for solving static and dynamic solid mechanics problems ranging from deformation and stress analysis of aerospace structures to the mechanical behaviour of biological materials such as tissues or bones and solving coupled problems such as fluid-structure interaction or thermo-mechanical problems.
Software development: SMR develops specific modules and complete custom made applications for its products. SMR also designs complete software packages integrating third party applications and libraries as well as open source software. SMR has successfully realized projects including customized finite elements analysis systems, massively parallel networked applications, data conversion tools, visualization systems for aircraft flight trajectories, and an programmable artificial commercial pilot.
